Na de totale off-day uit tegen KSV 2 de week ervoor, stond vandaag de wedstrijd tegen MEC 2 op het programma. In de 1e helft creëerde Rekken voetballend enkele goede kansen, welke helaas niet door de spitsen werden benut. Tussendoor waren er voor de neutrale toeschouwer nog enkele schitterende acties te zien, waaronder de ‘’schijntrap’’ van Tom B. en een ‘’Zizou-actie’’ van Robin W. Rekken bleef voetballend kansen creëren en na weer een goed opgebouwde aanval schoot genaturaliseerde ‘’Beltrum-Boy’’ Damas D. loepzuiver vanaf de 16 de 1-0 binnen. Helaas stond het niet veel later alweer 1-1, doordat de ‘’hotseknots-voorzetten’’ voor veel verwarring zorgden en MEC kon binnen tikken. Na goede loopacties en een dito bal vanaf de middenlijn, gegeven door de beste rechtsback die Rekken ooit gehad heeft, kwam de keeper uit zijn goal en scoorde Jasper met een omhaal de 2-1. Helaas was dit opnieuw van korte duur, doordat Tom B. gek werd van de hotseknots-voorzetten en hem zelf maar in eigen goal schoot. Resulterend in een 2-2 ruststand.
In de rust werd besloten om op dezelfde voet door te blijven voetballen, omdat de wedstrijd ondanks het scoreverloop onder controle was. De 2 goals waren nagenoeg de enige kansen die de tegenpartij kreeg, want verder stond de verdediging als een Berkelhuisje. MEC kon zich moeilijk onder de druk uit voetballen, wat resulteerde in overtredingen, waaronder één rond de 16 meter. De rechtsback met de beste trap die Rekken ooit gehad heeft, ging achter de bal staan. Uit zijn verleden als keeper, wist hij nog dat er een graspolletje onderin de rechterhoek zat. Hiermee verraste hij de keeper, die enkel een hand tegen de bal kon krijgen en Jasper schoot van dichtbij binnen. Wouter G. gaf nog wel even aan het een slechte vrije trap te vinden, waarvan akte. Daarna domineerde Rekken en liep door 2 goals van Jasper uit naar 5-2.
Jasper wilde door zijn 4 goals de wedstrijdbal mee naar huis nemen, maar werd tegengehouden door leider Dani, die zei dat hij normaal moest doen.
