16-9-2018: Beker SC Meddo 1 – SP Rekken 1 3-2
Op zondag 16 september trad Rekken aan voor de derde officiële wedstrijd van dit seizoen. Onder leiding van nieuwe hoofdtrainer Edwin van Eerten begon Rekken aan deze bekerwedstrijd tegen SC Meddo in de volgende opstelling.

Op deze mooie zonnige middag op sportpark ’t Konder mocht Rekken de aftrap nemen. In de begin fase was het balbezit aan beide kanten gelijk. Rekken probeerde via de opbouw van achteruit voor het doel van Meddo te komen. Dit lukte aardig tot aan de eind pass. Meddo kwam er een paar keer goed door heen, door snel te handelen en een goede steek pass achter de verdediging te leggen. Dylan deed actief mee, dus tot zo ver niks aan de hand. Rond de 20e minuut kwam Merijn Roos door aan de linker kant en schoot de 1-0 binnen voor Rekken. Rekken was in deze fase wat meer in balbezit en kon dus wat druk uit oefenen op Meddo. Dit leidde kort daarna ook tot de 2-0 voor Rekken. Door goed druk te zetten op de verdediging van Meddo kon Rekken de bal veroveren en schoot Joey Vos raak! Even daarna had Rekken de ingooi halve wege het veld. Hier werd balverlies geleden waardoor Meddo snel handelde en de verdediging te kijk zette en raak schoot. Met deze stand gingen we rusten. Niks aan de hand voor de Rekkenaren zou je zeggen. De 2e helft was de taak om nauwkeuriger te passen naar elkaar, met name de voorwaartse ballen langs beide flanken. Hier is het in de 2e helft voor Rekken geen moment van gekomen. Meddo nam het initiatief in handen en zette druk op de defensie van Rekken. Hier op had Rekken totaal geen antwoord. Het was éénrichtingsverkeer met name via de rechter kant van Meddo. Waardoor de snelle rechts buiten keer op keer goed werd bediend. Wat leidde tot een aantal grote kansen van Meddo. Het was eigenlijk wachten op de gelijk maker. Dit gebeurde door corner die bij de 2e paal werd binnen gekopt. De druk van Meddo nam niet af. Rekken kon geen blok vormen en zich niet herpakken, Meddo bleef jagen op de winnende treffer en slaagde daar ook in. Een strakke lage voorzet vanaf de rechterkant werd bij de 2e paal binnen gelopen. Rekken slaagde er niet meer in om voor de goal van Meddo te komen waarop de eind stand eindigde op een 3-2 verlies voor Rekken.
Volgende week is de start van de competitie, Rekken mag het op het sportpark ‘t Asterloo opnemen tegen TVO.
